Description

Ann is a virginal young woman who is engaged to be married. Eve is a cynical movie critic. As the film begins, they are vacationing on the Adriatic Sea. Eve girlishly dreams of her wedding while Ann attempts to awaken her to what she claims is sexual liberation. In reality, Ann is determined to corrupt innocent Eve by pointing out at each possible moment just how shallow and single minded men are.

Ann encourages Eve to try sex with other men and hires a fishing boat so that she can seduce one of the crew members. Next up is a swingers party where Eve is seduced into experiencing lesbianism and starts to embrace her sexual freedom. The men in the resort towns are more than willing to accommodate the visitors and the women find themselves rivals for the affection of a hotel porter. As their conquests continue, it becomes apparent that Eve’s complete abandonment of virtue was not expected. Ann soon realizes she has lost her hold on Eve. The student has far outrun the teacher!

“Ann and Eve” was one of the top grossing Swedish movies at the US box office, aided by the controversy of being seized by US customs.
