Riding on the coattails of their gritty roughie, “The Animal”, Bob Cresse and Lee Frost churned out this nasty western for an unsuspecting sexploitation crowd. Like “Animal”, “Hot Spur” is one of those small films that packs a giant punch, managing to disturb to this day. There’s so much hatred and deviance it’s like being burned with a cherry-hot iron—this really is the west at it’s rawest!

Oh, if you want even more western savagery, these guys went on to make the monumental exploitation film, “The Scavengers”!
