A beautiful tale with a mildly psychedelic vibe, chronicling the adventures of a dandy shepherd, deeply in love with a peasant girl. After chastizing a witch and being made fugitive by losing his sheep to a tornado, he barely avoids the life of a drunken bandit to join the cavalry. There he helps defeat the Turks and saves the daughter of the King of France. Galantly refusing her hand in marriage, he journeys home to find his true love has passed away. Devastated but undeterred, he travels to the Underworld, in a successful attempt to free her soul from the Devil himself. After defeating an army of giants, smiting an enormous dragon and crossing an uncrossable ocean, he joins his beloved in a fairy realm of paradise. I recommend viewing with your best girl.
