Mothra (モスラ Mosura) is a 1961 science fiction kaiju film directed by Ishiro Honda and starring Frankie Sakai.

A pair of tiny-looking twins, inhabitants of Beru Island, jealously guard their “Mothra” deity. Unfortunately, they are kidnapped and taken to Tokyo by an unscrupulous expeditionary to be exploited artistically. The twins use their mystical powers to revive the giant worm through telepathy. In turn, it goes to Tokyo, with the firm purpose of recovering its guardians, already turned into a giant moth and sweeping everything in its path.
