RIDER OF THE SKULLS 1965

This was so much fun. You get a masked cowboy superhero, a werewolf running loose, a vampire with a bat face, a sword-wielding headless horseman, his talking severed head in a box and his two ghoul henchmen – all of them terrorizing small Mexican villages in the most campy way possible. I loved everything about this. I’ve always wanted to dig into more Mexican genre movies but they’re not exactly widely available save for a few of the most notorious. This is on YouTube at the moment and well worth a look. It’s kinda like The Monster Squad in 60’s Mexico meets a 1930’s Cowboy serial. A perfect mix of strangeness.
