SANTA’S FANTASY FAIR

(1969), Color, 80 minutes
(aka BROTHER’S GRIMM STORYBOOK FAIR ???)
distributed by Trans-International Films
presented by K. Gordon Murray

No prints of this film have turned up thus far. Stay tuned!

Although no prints of this anthology feature have turned up, one can surmise from the poster that it contained SANTA CLAUS & HIS HELPERS (probably in its entirety), as well as clips from LITTLE BOY BLUE AND PANCHO, LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD, THE PIED PIPER OF HAMELIN, and THE GOLDEN GOOSE.

Curiously enough, Goodtimes Video released a title in the early 1990’s called SANTA’S FANTASY FAIR, and although it was obviously a patchwork creation of their own, with video-generated titles, it did recreate this lost feature fairly well. They used footage from the original SANTA CLAUS instead of SANTA CLAUS & HIS HELPERS, which was understandable. However, their big boner was using a clip from the German Childhood Productions’ PUSS N’ BOOTS, instead of Murray’s Mexican PUSS ‘N BOOTS! Also, a clip from LITTLE BOY BLUE AND PANCHO was conspicously absent. Still, this is an interesting little Murray curio.

We erroneously thought that another Murray fairy tale anthology feature, SANTA’S BIG FILM FESTIVAL OF THE BROTHERS GRIMM, was a re-titling of this film, when in fact the two films appear to be seperate releases, containing all-different material.

color, fullscreen VHS transfer, mono, 80 minutes. DVD-R comes packaged as shown in color DVD case, wrapped in plastic!
